DADS DESERVE CUSTODY TOO

What do you need when you’re facing a thorny divorce, or just your average divorce process? You need access to professionals who will be in your corner and help you to work through what you’re facing. But getting there is easier said than done, and a lot of people who have been through this type of thing will tell you that it can, in reality, seem very lonely.

In some cases, people face what we call an access problem. They may not have the right access to professionals in their home communities. They may feel that no one is available to help them! Usually, that’s not the case, but it can certainly feel that way.

We strive to help with these issues in the Montgomery, Alabama area. We specifically represent fathers in family courts because we feel like it’s an important mission. We know that these things are important, and we also know that men often face access problems when it comes to finding a good divorce lawyer or attorney who will stand up for them. We want to provide the solution. Part of that involves good knowledge of local and state courts, but another part of it is the outreach, and being visible, and being there for fathers.

Balance in Custody

One example is finding a balanced custody agreement.

In some cases, parties who are working these things out in court are under a sort of misguided or old-fashioned sentiment where they believe that mothers should always have full custody, or that custody shouldn’t be fundamentally balanced. That results in all kinds of things like excessive limitations on meetings and unfair custody agreements that can actually be detrimental to everyone in the end.

There are many factors to consider, of course. There is the question of fitness, which usually gets batted around to a great extent during these proceedings, especially if they are in any way contentious. Remember that along with the primary parties in this legal process, there are many others who might have an opinion that they insert into the mix, and there might be quite a bit of ambiguity around legal outcomes or resolution. Good attorneys have to be able to navigate these contexts to bring legal recourse and resolution to the table.

Representation

Through it all, we strive to give our clients a voice in local courts. We want to help resolve cases successfully based on a family’s real situations. Anything else is the mark of an inferior family lawyer who may just be trying to get a paycheck. To us, it’s much more than that: it’s a question of resolution that benefits the community as a whole and our clients as individuals. Ask the Morris Firm for Men what we can do for you.
